The Reef Dive Resort at Mataking Island is proud to announce a new and exciting development within its PADI 5 star facility

On April 14th, the resort added Enriched Air Diving (Nitrox) to its already extensive range of recreational diving courses and activities offered for its guests.

Normal compressed air is a combination of 21% oxygen and 79% nitrogen. With an impressive safety record, diving with this mixture of gases has been common-place for many years.

However, when guest do a number of dives each day, this type of repetitive diving can shorten the length of time that guests can enjoy the beautiful underwater scenery that Sabah has to offer, as well as make divers very tired at the end of the day.

Divers using Nitrox are diving with a higher percentage of oxygen, which in essence means that divers can stay at depth for longer periods of time, with the higher percentage of oxygen making them far less tired.

Nitrox which has been around in the west since the mid 1990’s and its popularity has grown consistently through the years.

Now with greater accessibility in Sabah for the relevant materials, Nitrox will be common place along the shores of Mataking, where safe and eco-friendly diving procedures are continually developed.

However, if your yet to complete your Nitrox training, then that’s not a problem as we can train you in the pleasures of Nitrox in less than a full day and then you are qualified and we can go have fun !

Nitrox fills are available for any mix from 22-40% at only RM35 per fill.
