Types of Personal Information Collected:
Mataking Reef Resort collects personal information when you proceed a reservation, check-in, or use our services. This may include, but is not limited to, your name, address, email address, telephone number, payment information, and any other information necessary to provide you with the best possible experience while staying at the resort. We may also collect information about your travel preferences, dietary restrictions, and other relevant information to better serve you during your stay.
Use of Personal Information:
1. Reservation & Payment
1.1 A 30% deposit / reservation fee (inclusive of package fee and jetty fee) is required within seven (7) days of receiving an official booking confirmation. This deposit is strictly non-refundable.
1.2 The balance payment of the package fee and jetty fee must be settled no later than thirty (30) days prior to the check-in date.
1.3 Failure to remit the balance payment within the stipulated period shall result in automatic cancellation of the booking, and the reserved slot will be released for resale.
2. Cancellation Policy
2.1 In the event of cancellation by the customer, the following charges shall apply:
From confirmation date to 30 days before check-in: 30% of total trip price forfeited.
From 29 to 15 days before check-in: 50% of total trip price forfeited.
From 14 to 01 day before check-in: 70% of total trip price forfeited.
No Show on check-in date: 100% of total trip price forfeited.
3. Postponement Policy
3.1 Customers may request to postpone their booking subject to the following conditions:
A 30% penalty fee will be imposed and collected.
Postponement requests must be made no later than three (3) days before the original check-in date.
The new check-in date must fall within the period of 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026, and is subject to availability.
3.2 Failure to provide a new check-in date within the stipulated period shall result in 100% forfeiture of the total trip price plus the 30% penalty fee (non-refundable).
3.3 Each booking is entitled to one (1) postponement only.
In the event if we encounter a bad weather condition or unforeseen circumstances which render a cancellation of last boat transfer into the island, all relevant food and lodging costs for the overnight stay will be arranged and absorbed by the company in lieu of the cost staying at Mataking Island. There will be NO further claims or refunds for such incidental circumstances.

Upon arrival, guests are required to sign an affirmation and liability release letter for the benefits of all parties.
(i) All Information is correct at the time of printing and subject to change without prior notice.
(ii) Guests are therefore advised to check with our island staffs on the latest updated information and arrangement.
(iii) All island expenses will be subjected to 8% Sales and Services Tax (SST).
ALL PRICES ON THE WEBSITE ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE. While we make every effort to provide the most accurate, up to date information and the prices quoted do not include any applicable taxes/duties imposed by the Malaysian Government.
The company shall NOT be held responsible and reserve the rights to charge the customer for any additional costs rendered by any last-minute cancellations, delays, and changes of any arrangement made by the customer (less than 72 hours before arrival time as per schedule). Guests are also recommended to follow our recommended flights in order to connect to our daily normal boat transfer in and out from the island to minimize the waiting time.
All types of activities being offered by the resort at the island especially dive activities are subjected to bad sea, weather conditions / poor visibility, and also divers’ own physical abilities (e.g.: injuries, intoxication, hangovers, etc.). Therefore, we reserve the final decision and rights to either proceed or abort any activities/dives for any safety reasons.
Note:
Flying After Diving (last day at resort) – Divers are required to have 24 hours of surface interval before they fly. However, we, at The Reef believes that this differ from different individuals, agencies and even dive computer/dive tables. If divers choose to dive less than 24 hours (recommended hours) before they fly, they will be required to sign a separate Liability/Release Form for this matter. However, this is still subjected to the approval from the Dive Center management.
